How Green Life works at home

You are the Learning Guide. We hand you the day.

Green Life is built so a parent can run it — no teaching degree required. Each day is a calm, hands-on rhythm where the child does the thinking and you guide with questions, not answers.

Child-directed

Children take the lead in their own learning. We protect free play, choice, and the child's own lab notebook — ownership is what makes it stick.

Teacher as guide

Your job is to ask, not tell. We give you the Socratic beats and a minimal-prompt → practice fade. "AI suggests, you decide."

Socratic method

Question before answer. Every lesson opens with a real wonder — the child predicts, tests, and reasons before any concept is named.

Calm by design

No points, streaks, or flashing rewards. One task at a time, quiet success, progress as a climb — attention protected, screens to the side.

Hands-on & living

Bread, ferments, and the garden are the spine. Children bake and grow before they abstract — concrete first, every time.

Screens to the side

The online classroom supports the day — it never becomes the day. Tools assist the guide; the learning stays in the room.

The daily rhythm

A whole day, in a calm order.

From the morning self-regulation opener to the afternoon Discovery Hour, the day flows in blocks you can run as written or adapt for one child or mixed ages.

8:00 · OPEN

Settle & breathe

A short self-regulation opener — calm bodies before busy minds.

8:30 · READING

Reading Command Center

Phonics drill, decoding, and the daily climb — at the child's level.

9:30 · APPLIED

Bread & ferments

The living-science lesson — tend, wonder, do, and chart the change.

10:45 · GARDEN

In the garden

Hands in the soil — observation, care, and the slow science of growing.

12:30 · MATH

Math Command Center

Singapore-style, play-first — number bonds, CGI stories, the abacus.

1:30 · MIND

Mind Garden

~10 quiet minutes of thinking skills — untimed, calm, a growing climb.

2:00 · ART + AdvAc

Make & reason

Art, advanced academics, and digital sovereignty — woven, not bolted on.

2:30 · JOURNAL

Journaling

The child writes the day — their own scientist's record, in their words.

3:00 · DISCOVERY

Discovery Hour & store

Free, child-led exploration — and the school store that ties it together.

The online classroom

Three calm apps that support the day.

Included with the online subscription. Each one is one-task-at-a-time, with a recorded guide voice and a replayable worked example — and an AI helper that stays behind its own toggle.

Reading Command Center

A daily phonics-to-fluency path: sound drill, decoding, sight words, and a decodable reader — sequenced for today, not a wall of choices.

Math Command Center

Number bonds, CGI story problems, and the abacus — concrete → representational → abstract, with a worked example before every "now you try."

The Mind Garden

A short daily thinking-skills block — spatial span, following directions, brain stretch — calm, untimed, and growing like a garden.

The online classroom is a subscription add-on. The AI tutor sits behind a separate access toggle on the guide surface — on only when you choose.
